Lily-Rose Depp is enjoying a major streaming success with her latest horror film, Nosferatu. The 2024 release, which debuted in theaters on Christmas Day, is a chilling remake of the 1922 silent classic Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror, itself inspired by Bram Stoker’s Dracula.
The film features an impressive cast, including Nicholas Hoult, Bill Skarsgård, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Willem Dafoe.
Nosferatu Dominates the Box Office Before Streaming Debut
Before its arrival on Peacock, Nosferatu made a significant impact at the box office. According to Deadline, the Focus Features production became the studio’s second-highest-grossing film of all time, trailing only Brokeback Mountain (2005).
With an international box office total of $178 million against a $50 million budget, the film outperformed expectations. Competing with Searchlight’s A Complete Unknown upon its theatrical release, Nosferatu notably outshined the Timothée Chalamet-led film, as reported by Collider.
Nosferatu Tops Peacock’s Streaming Charts
According to FlixPatrol, as of February 24, 2025, Nosferatu is number 1 on Peacock. Good for Depp after the mixed bag that was The Idol in 2023.
Meanwhile, The Weeknd, Depp’s The Idol co-star, just finished his album trilogy with Hurry Up Tomorrow. In 2023 he told Variety that the negative reviews were expected and that the team achieved what they set out to do.
